| As a result of many well-wishers attempts, the Govt. of Kerala undertook measures to begin a high school in Kurikkilad and thus G.H.S.S. Chorode bacame a reality on 3rd September 1974 with a strength of 27 pupils And offically the school was inaugurated on 16th September 1974 by Mr.R. Ramachandran Nair, D.P.I. of Kerala. It was Mr.Madathil V.K. Ammad Haji who donated almost 4 acres of land for the school. During the academic year 2000-01 the school became Higher Secondray School(with one batch for Commerce) the contribution of Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, District Panchayath, S.S.A and many others is remarkable for the improvement of the physical requirements of the school. The school P.T.A has also an opulent role in the progress of the school.
