The Lost “Oh, the Xerox industries are being handed over to the Newtons by Mr. Xerox... That is great”, told Rosario as he read the newspaper. Richard and his father Rosario had a very loving life. His father was a famous detective of CIA who recently retired and opened a small restaurant named ‘DE- ROSARIO-HOTEL’. It was a small but the best hotel in the entire district of California. His father; Rosario was Spanish and his mother Lucy was American. They had a very peaceful life until Richard got mad about his work at his father’s restaurant. One day, during their morning routine they saw that their hotel was full of customers and all wanted their best dish, ‘The Spiral Con-flower Manchee’, which was very popular among the citizens there. After serving their customers with full of the dishes they wanted, Richard, who was getting ready for his last exams for entering into the CIA, asked his parents, “Mom, why am I doing such stuff? I should be studying for my last exam for CIA and instead of that I am serving the customers with their lovely food. Why are we doing this? Why?” by hearing what Richard told his parents, they reacted to it, “I know that you don’t like doing such stuff and also know that the past few months have gone really hard on you but you have to wait for just some more months and then you are free to go and travel anywhere in this world. Let the sem complete and then you are free to go, my son!” By hearing that Richard felt a bit happy and decided to go and study. When he reached the room, he was quite shocked to see the scenery there. All the windows were open, the books were all on the ground and saw the new table he has just bought yesterday has surprisingly vanished for sight. He got a bit scared and then at a sudden he called out his parents to see the room. When they reached there, he saw that there were interesting symbols on the walls of the room which looked like a spiral ball with many leaves on it. By seeing it, the parents got a bit worried that if their house was burgled. But after their lunch, they went to a neibourhood reunion to tell their colony president about the incident that happened it their house. But after saying what all happened in their home, they got to know that it was happening all over the world. He told the family that there were many issues in the NEWS about the same incident happening in California and Newzeland also. The majority of the opinions were to lock down the gates of the building in there colony and let no one enter until very much needed. The next most supported idea was to inform this to the local authorities or the CIA. But Rosario and his family had other ideas. They thought that if want some much of such stuff then it might not be a normal burglar. Usually burglars steal only expensive items and also jewelries. They thought it might not be a burglar. After sometime, a police officer came there to investigate the case. He immediately got to know that it wasn’t a work of a burglar. He asked the residents about the things that went lost that day. They said different food and were that it all tasted different. All the residents asked the policeman about the reason about such a different type of question. He said, “We got to know that all the things that went lost were of the same brand and company ‘Xerox’. I think that it is a work of a person who doesn’t want that company to be rich or famous. But why would anybody do such thing?” He asked a nearby person to hand over his phone for a second. The officer checked the market potential and quality of products. His doubt was proved correct as the most money making company of that current was Enquiry products. He made a theory that it might a person who has or would have had a serious anger against that company and then decided to take revenge. Or else it might be another company’s work to fail Xerox and get them to the top. I personally think that it is the work of another Company cause it is happening all around the globe. With excitement, Richard told the policeman that his father was also a detective who worked for the CIA. Rosario was quite ashamed to be told as a late detective who didn’t even get a chance to show his true intelligence to the nation. So he decided to ask the policeman that how he could help them out. The policeman told him that he could not be for any help due to the unhanded information he could get throughout the case, and also he is retired and a retired officer is a simple, normal man. He quite got so pissed through such harsh manner of talking of the officer and then went back home. Next day, he got a call from his late H.O.D telling that he should rejoin the department. But for this time, he decided to put Richard in that case. He asked Richard to keep his mind clear and simple for what he thinks and does. That was the main aim of being a detective. He asked his son to leave behind his nonsense and eradicate all his bad thoughts so he could feel free and uproot to the real part of his life. He asked Richard to keep a clock with him always, to know and also to keep a note book for writing down important information. Rosario called his late H.O.D named Simon, and told him that he could not come and instead his son might be there in my place. Simon got a little worried to take someone with no experience in that field and denied that at the spot, but then Rosario told him about the intelligence of Richard and denoted that he could prove more better that me. Simon couldn’t argue with Rosario and accepted his regards. Rosario told Richard that he will make Rosario proud one day and today is that day, a small pocket diary. He told Richard to pack his things up and get ready for going to U.K for this mission. Next morning, Rosario handed over the tickets for the flight and also gave him a letter which was to be given to the H.O.D. With great excitement, Richard went to the Airport and his parents wished him luck. It was a two day trip to the U.K international airport, where the C.I.A officials were waiting for him. Luckily, they all knew about the change in the detective and so they were sure that Richard is coming, and Rosario isn’t. As soon as Richard got into the C.I.A head quarters, he soon asked for the latest information about the theft. He was surprised to know that there were another 3 thefts done yesterday and today. He was quite shocked to know that the same utensils and furniture were being lost and all of them were of the Xerox Company. He then asked a completely different type of a question. He asked them to look for the people who are working in the Xerox and needed their I.D immediately. He soon got all what he needed and started to search for the loop hole inside the case. He looked through the CCTV and found out that there were 17 new signing inside the Xerox this year and all of them were coming for another companies. He seriously doubted that it might be a planned work to fail the Xerox. He asked the H.O.D that he wanted to have a serious conversation with the C.E.O of Xerox industries. The very next day, the meeting was kept. Richard asked the C.E.O, Mr. Newton that if he got any message about the theft or had any hostility against any other heads of Companies and Newton replied with a simple ‘no’. Richard asked the staff of the company to show them their badges and there was nothing to be different off. The next day, he told that he wanted to have the permission to all the CCTV cameras in the nearby societies and wanted to take action against who don’t allow us to give their CCTVs. The following day, while he was going to the hotel where he would stay for the night, he saw something useful for the investigation. He saw that, his father had sent him a photo of the burglar area and there was a small piece of cloth on which was written Cande-Products, which was the name of a company. He soon took it to the H.Q and took that piece of cloth to the dogs for finding where it came from. They first went to the H.Q of the Cande-products and then started to search if the piece of cloth referred to someone there. There opinion was right as rain. They found out the culprit. They got to know that the piece of cloth was of a person named Dimitri and he worked at the Clothing section of the industry. He was quite ashamed and told the reason for the robbery and also told who all were there with him. He told, “Nearly a month ago, one man came to the factory and asked us to do a work for him, He told that he would make us rich if we do his job. We all come from great suffering so immediately accepted his offer. He told us to rob all the things made out of the Xerox industries from a house and burn it down into ashes. Then he started giving us money. At first we were a bit scared, but his work made us live life peacefully. He told us that the robbed furniture can be used at our home also. He never told us why we were doing all this. The truth is that we never even dared to ask him. From now on, we will never do such thing, that’s a promise. Please don’t arrest us, our families don’t have anyone else to take care of them.” Now he only needed to know one thing from him and that was the name of the person they were working for. Richard asked the question and he replied, “Mr. Xerox”. Everyone was quite shocked to hear that. No one thought that someone would do something like this to destroy their own creations. They went to Xerox’s house and asked him about his deed on destroying his own creations. He replied, “I don’t want anyone to take control over my life’s work. That is not fare. They filed wrong statements on me and so the company was to be transferred to the name of Newtons….. I don’t want that to happen. So I did this, and also one more thing which you all would notice in a time.” “Do you mean this Mr. Xerox?” asked Richard as he showed a diffused bomb in his hand. He said, “Sorry Mr. Xerox but I found your plan to hide the bomb behind the factories construction area. You kept it there without anyone noticing you but the CCTV cameras aren’t for just to show. I saw that and yesterday itself pulled it out and diffused it with the help of the bomb squad.
