GVHSS Thamarassery has a spectacular history  regarding NCC. The NCC unit was established in 1971 under 30 Kerala Battalion (Army), Kozhikode. The paredes are conducted regularly twice per week with the help of PI staff from 30 (k)BN Kozhikode. The PI staff from the HQ supports the institution very much. The PI staff  come to the institution and conduct classes and pareds regularly. An attractive refreshment food is  also supplied to the cadets on every Friday parade day.

Apart from regular pareds and classes the students play a vital role in the school activities.They are regularly engaged in cleaning the school premises without fail. They have an important role in school discipline. The school functions like youth festival , sports etc  are regularly controlled with the help of school NCC unit.

In the year 2017 NCC unit started the activities in school by planting trees in school compound . Various types of saplings like mango, Jackfruit, neem etc were planted by the cadets.

As a part of 69th NCC day celebrations the unit made a vegetable garden in Amar Jyoti  school for differently abled on 27th November 2017 and the afternoon was made unforgettable by a musical feast by the cadets.

The NCC unit of the school keep its head high through their social works and their true spirit for  national integration.
